Pease qualifies for third Olympic Trials

On Sunday (3-Dec) Sarah Pease, 30, of Elizabeth, Ind. ran to a 16th place finish at the USATF Marathon Championships in Sacramento, Calf.  Her time of 2:38:19 was a career best by over three minutes and also qualified her for the 2020 Olympic Team Trials (site and date TBD).
Pease, who won the 2017 Indiana 5 km Championships in July, improved on the 2:41:45 she ran in her marathon debut in February at the Mercedes Marathon in Birmingham, Alabama.
"I was happy to lower my career best by over 3 minutes and get the trials qualifier under my belt, stated Pease via email following her race. “While I was a little off my goal of top 10 finish and the A standard, I'm confident I will achieve that. I am really excited to race another marathon in the spring!"
She is now a three time Olympic Trials qualifier having competed in the 3000m steeplechase at the 2012 and 2016 track & field trials.
