Killebrew selected as March Athlete of the Month

Semira Killebrew, 17, of Indianapolis has been named the USATF Indiana Athlete of the Month for March 2018.  Killebrew is a junior at Brebeuf Jesuit Prep in Indianapolis.
The highlight of Killebrew's busy month was finishing fourth in the 60m at the always competitive New Balance Nationals in New York City (March 9-11).  Her time of 6.41 was a career best and just .02 seconds off the Indiana record set by Lynna Irby last year.  In New York Killebrew also finished ninth in the 200m running 24.38.
Two weeks later, at the Hoosier State Relays Indoor Championships, Killebrew led Brebeuf Jesuit to the 1-3A team title.  Individually, the she won the 60m in 6.45; breaking her one-year old meet record of 6.51.   She also anchored the  4x200m and 4x400m relay teams to victory. In the 4x200m her squad blasted a 1:41:40, establishing a new all-time Indiana indoor record (previous record 1:41.46, Warren Central, 2016).
