Duffus selected as September Athlete of the Month

Zoe Duffus, 18, of Fort Wayne has been named the USATF Indiana Athlete of the Month for September 2020.  Duffus is a senior at Fort Wayne Carroll High School. 

On September 5, at the Marion Invitational Duffus finished a close second to Nicki Southerland running 17:36; just .1 second behind Southerland. 

The following week she ran 18:35 at the Northrop Bruin Invitational to finish second to Addison Knoblauch.

She finished the month off with a win at the New Haven Invitational on September 26.  She ran 17:36 to defeat Knoblauch by 30 seconds. 

Duffus has announced that she plans to attend Penn State University following graduation.  She is a two-time USATF Indiana Athlete of the Year (2019 U20 Cross Country and 2016 13-14 Youth Cross Country).  She was the 2017 USATF national youth indoor champion in the 1500m and 3000m; setting a still standing meet record in the 1500m of 4:40.62.
