Palacios selected as March Athlete of the Month

Antonio Palacios, 53, of Bloomington, has been named the USATF Indiana Athlete of the Month for March 2019. 

On March 24 Palacios won the men's 50-54long triple jump at the World Masters Indoor Championships in Torun, Poland. Palacios took the lead in round 2 with a leap of 6.23m (20-5¼) and was never challenged. Alberto Tifi of Italy finished second with a best mark of 6.19m (20-3¾).
 
Two days later he finished second in the triple jump with a mark of 13.18m (43-3). The event was won by Jose Escalera of Puerto Rico with mark of 13.30m (43-7¾).
