Rohrer selected as April Athlete of the Month



 
Anna Rohrer, 26, of Carmel has been named the USATF Indiana Athlete of the Month for April 2023.

Rohrer, a six time Indiana high school state champion and a 2019 graduate of Notre Dame, ran 2:30:52 at the Boston Marathon to finish 21st overall. She was the 7th American to finish. According to IndianaRunner.com her time is the fastest ever by an Indiana high school graduate.

Just 17 days after the Boston Marathon she won the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon in Indianapolis running 1:11:31 (#3 Indiana alumna
)

Other notable performances by USATF Indiana members in April


Hannah Alexander of Noblesville threw 46-01 in the Shot Put and 155-04 in the Discus (#13 Indiana high school all-time).

Martin Barco of Martinsville won the won the 1 mile at the Franklin Central Distance Showcase Invitational running 4:08.94 (#16 Indiana high school all-time) and finished second in the 3200m at the Carmel Distance Showcase running 8:57.68 (#20 Indiana high school all-time).

Wyatt Curl of West Lafayette cleared 15-04 in the pole vault.

Gretchen Farley of Indianapolis ran 4:48.81 (1600m) to win the Park Tudor Invitational and 10:13.86 (3200m; #7 Indiana high school all-time) to finish third at the Carmel Distance Showcase.

Luke Himes of McCordsville won the Shot Put (66-07; #5 Indiana HS all-time) and Discus (171-03) at the Circle City Conference Championships.

Cody Johnston of Hobart cleared 17-02 in the pole vault (#5 Indiana HS all-time).


Sophia Kennedy of Carmel won the 1 mile at the Franklin Central Distance Showcase Invitational running 4:49.81 and won the 3200m at the Carmel Distance Showcase running 10:07.28 (#3 Indiana high school all-time).

Hadley Lucas of Bloomington threw 50-00 in the Shot Put (#5 Indiana HS all-time) and 167-02 in the Discus (#4 Indiana HS all-time).

Kole Mathison of Carmel finished second in the 1 mile (4:11.36) at the Franklin Central Distance Showcase Invitational and won the 3200m (8:56.38) at the Carmel Distance Showcase. 

Rachel Mehringer of Schnellville ran 13.82 in the 100m hurdles (#4 Indiana HS all-time) to win the Forest Park Girls Invitational. 


Addison Knoblauch of Fort Wayne finished second in the 3200m at the Carmel Distance Showcase in a time of 10:12.69 (#5 Indiana HS all-time).

Jaelyn Reeves-Lile of Indianapolis won the 100m (10.53) and 200m (21.54) at the Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference Championships.

Julia Score of Noblesville ran 4:56.97 (1 mile) to finish third at the Franklin Central Distance Showcase Invitational and 10:32.79 (3200m) to finish sixth at the Carmel Distance Showcase.

Nicki Southerland of Muncie finished fourth in the 3200m at the Carmel Distance Showcase in a time of 10:14.61 (#8 Indiana HS all-time).
