Wiley selected as April Athlete of the Month

Addison Wiley, 18, of Huntington has been named the USATF Indiana Athlete of the Month for April 2022.   Wiley is a senior at Huntington North High School and has announced she will matriculate to the University of Colorado following graduation.  She was the 2021 USATF Indiana Athlete of the Year (U20 Track & Field).

On April 11, Wiley won the 1500m at The Monday Meet at Indiana Tech running 4:19.39.  The time is the #47 time ever run by a U.S. U20 athlete.

Four days later, she won the Flashes Showcase Miracle Mile in a meet record time of 4:42.67 (4:40.03 1600m).  Other than the 1600m state record of 4:36.53, that she owns, no one in Indiana state history has ever run as fast for the 1600m distance.

She finished off the month of April by running 10:27.08 at the Lime City Relays in Huntington on April 30.  Wiley has a career best of 10:16.91 (#6 Indiana all-time) but her time at the Lime City meet has only been bettered by 12 other girls in Indiana history.
