Yorek selected as December Athlete of the Month
Aliyah Yorek,
10, of Fishers has been named the USATF Indiana Athlete of the Month for December 2022.
Yorek finished fourth in the 9-10 girls division at the
USATF National Junior Olympic Championships
in College Station, TX. Her time of 11:22 was just four second behind Isla Rahmer of New Mexico who won the race. The fourth place finish was the best on the day by all of the Indiana athletes that competed.
Yorek, who competes for the Body in Training Track Club, finished fourth in the season-long Hoosier Cross Country Grand Prix as she won the Noblesville Classic in October and then the Carmel Classic and Indiana Association Championships in November. She won the USATF Region 7 title by 35 seconds to qualify for the national championships.

of Carmel won the Champs Sports Cross Country Championships in San Diego and finished second at the Nike Nationals in Portland, OR.
Elizabeth McAllister
of Georgtown finished 8th (7-8 girls) at the USATF National Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships in College Station, TX. to earn all-American honors.
Calvin Seitz
of Jasper finished 21st (13-14 boys) at the USATF National Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships in College Station, TX. to earn all-American honors.
