Overview

In September, October and November USATF Indiana will host a series of cross country meets as part of the 6th annual USATF INDIANA Hoosier Cross Country Grand Prix.  

The Grand Prix schedule includes events in Bloomington, Columbus, Noblesville, Lowell, and Seymour. Each meet will offer races for youth, open, and masters athletes.  

USATF membership is not required to participate in the meets but only USATF Indiana members will earn Grand Prix points at each of the meets that will accumulate towards a year-end grand prix score and place. 

The Grand Prix will culminate with the USATF Indiana Cross Country Championships* on November 9 (youth) and November 24 (open/masters).

* additional scoring opportunites will be available for those athletes who compete in the Junior Olympic Region and National Championships and the USATF National Club Cross Country Championships

Rules/Scoring (How You Score in the Grand Prix)

USATF Membership

You must be a current USATF Indiana member to earn Grand Prix points. Not a member? Join here.

Divisions

  • Youth (8 & under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16,17-18)
  • Open (19-39 yrs.)
  • Masters (40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64..............100+)

Classic events (Sept. 28 - Nov. 3)

The winner of each division will be awarded 500 points and the last place finisher will be awarded 100 points. Points will then be awarded to all finishers in each division on a descending scale down to the minimum point value (100). 

Championship Races (Nov. 9 & Nov. 24)

The winner of each division will be awarded 1000 points and the last place finisher will be awarded 200 points. Points shall then be awarded to all finishers in a division on a descending scale down to the minimum point value (200).

An athlete’s best four scores will be added together to determine their Grand Prix score.

Bonus Points

An additional 100 points will be added to the athlete’s score for participation in each of the following events:

  • 5th event in the Grand Prix
  • 6th event in the Grand Prix
  • 7th event in the Grand Prix
  • Region 7 Junior Olympic  XC Champs.
  • National Junior Olympic XC Champs. (December 14 in Madison, WI)
  • National Club XC Champs. (December 14 in Bethlehem, PA)
