Volunteers Needed

Organizing a quality event takes many people. WIthout the support of volunteers we could not offer your child the quality experience we all want for them. Please consider volunteering on June 13-15. There are many different time slots and areas we need your assistance in.

To volunteer, please send an email with your name and the days and times you would be available.

Eligibility

Individuals

• USATF Membership: All athletes must be 2020 members of USATF in good standing. Click here to join. Check your membership status here.
• Nationality Requirements: Only U.S. citizens, aliens living in the United States and foreign exchange students are eligible to compete in these Championships. See the USATF Rules for more information and exceptions.
• Divisions: A competitor must compete in his/her age division only. There will be no "moving up" in any events, including relays.
• Maximum # of Events: Competitors in the 8 & Under, 9-10 and 11-12 age divisions may compete in a maximum of three events, including relays. Competitors in the 13-14, 15-16 and 17-18 age divisions may compete in a maximum of four events, including relays. Combined events are not included in the event count.

Age Verification (proof of Date of Birth)

The age of each athlete must be verified prior to entering the championships. Before registration, please ensure that the membership chair has received (via email) a copy of the athlete’s Proof of Date of Birth (copy of birth certificate, passport, certified baptismal record, driver’s license or U.S. government identification). See Rule 300.1 (i) for further explanation.

Age verification must be received by Monday June 10, 2020 at 10:00 PM.

• Documents received after this deadline will not be processed.
• Please include the 2020 USATF Membership # and athlete's name in the email.
• Email to Latashia Key (membership chair).

Relay Teams

• USATF Club Membership: Only registered 2020 USATF member clubs may enter a relay team(s). The list of current member clubs is available here.
• Athletes: All athletes representing the club must be affiliated with and members of that club as part of their USATF membership.

Entry Notes

Combined Events (Decathlon/Heptathlon/Triathlon/Pentathlon)

These events will not be contested at the Indiana Association Championships.

• Fees must be paid online by the close of registration. Accuracy of data entered is the responsibility of each club and/or athlete. Please validate data within the entry portal for accuracy prior to submitting entry. An instructional video on the online registration process may be accessed by visiting, www.athlietic.net.
• Valid 2020 USATF Membership and Proof of Birth is required to enter the championships. Before registration, please ensure that the membership chair has received (via email) a copy of the athlete’s Proof of Birth (copy of birth certificate, passport, certified baptismal record, driver’s license or U.S. government identification). See Rule 300.1 (i) for further explanation. Age verification must be received by Monday June 8, 2020 at 10:00pm. Please include the 2020 USATF Membership # in the EMAIL for faster processing. The proof of age document should be emailed to Latashia Key (membership chair).
• All athletes who participate in the USATF Junior Olympic Program must complete the Junior Olympic Participant Waiver and Release form. This form is integrated in the online entry system and is included in the submitted entry.

Schedule of Events

The schedule of events will be available soon.

• Schedule is subject to change.
• Where order is not specified, order will be youngest to oldest, girls followed by boys.
• For the throwing events, based on the number of competitors, the divisions may be combined (contested together).

Implements/Implement Inspections

Implements will be provided. If you would like to use your own implement, they must be inspeced by 10 a.m. on the day of competition.

Event Check-In

There will be separate check-in areas for Running and Field events. Athletes must check in at these designated areas at first call for the age group and event. All athletes will be required to remain in the designated warm-up areas after checking in.

Competition Bib Numbers

All competitors must wear their assigned bib numbers during competition and on the front on their jerseys only. If an athlete loses their bib number, a replacement can be purchased for a fee of $10.00. Bib numbers will be distributed to athletes in their team packets or individual folders for unattached athletes at the packet pick-up area.

Event Results

During competition, event results will be posted at a designated area at the track facility. In addition, event results will be posted on this page.

Protests

There will be a $100.00 fee for all protests. Protests must be submitted to the Protest Referee at once and not later than 30 minutes after a result has been announced. The protest fee will be refunded if the protest is upheld.

Awards

USATF Junior Olympic medals will be awarded to the top three (3) individuals and the top three (3) relay teams in each event of each age division.

GATE ADMISSION FEES

• $10.00 - 1 day pass
• $15.00 - 2 day pass

Coaches Admission Policy: Only those coaches whose name appears on the Coaches Registry by June 8, 2020 will be admitted free. Otherwise they must pay the admission fee ($10) and will not be allowed on the track or field and they do not receive the coach’s band.

Rules: Conduct & Facility

• Coolers: Coolers will be allowed in the stadium. However, we would like to encourage teams to eat in the designated “tailgate/tent city”. The track is visible from this area. Each club/athlete is responsible for cleaning up their areas.
• Tents: Tents are NOT permitted in the stands. They may be setup in the designated “tent city” area.

Advancements

The top 8 individuals and relay teams in each event of each age division will advance to the USATF Region 7 Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships to be held July 9-12, 2020 at Ball State University in Muncie, IN.

The USATF National Junior Olympic Championships will be held July 27 - August 2 in Jacksonville, FL. The top 5 athletes at the Region 7 Championships will qualify for the National Championships (in combined events the top 2 athletes will qualify).
