Jackson selected as March Athlete of the Month

Thomas Jackson, 22, of Gary, Ind. has been named the USATF Indiana Athlete of the Month for March 2021. Jackson is a senior at Bethel University.

Jackson won the NAIA national title in the long jump with a jump of 7.34m (24-1). Jackson's winning jump came in round one as no one in the field was able to match it mark during the remaining five rouds. James Gilbert from Northwestern College (IA) moved from fourth to second in round 6 but was four inches short of Jackson's mark.

At the 2020 NAIA Indoor Championships Jackson finished second and in 2019 he finished fifth as his teammate Jordan Downs won. Downs was the February 2019 USATF Indiana Athlete of the Month.
