Davis and Indiana Elite AC each win second national title in 2022

The Indiana Elite AC continued their domination of the USATF Masters Grand Prix circuit with another team title yesterday (20-March) in Syracuse, N.Y. Competing at the USATF Masters Half Marathon Championships, the squad won its third M40+ team title since December.  

Once again Jesse Davis, 40, lead the team as he claimed victory in the M40 division and was the first overall finisher in the masters championship.  Davis, who won the national cross country title in December, crossed the line in 1:09:46.  Eric Blake of Connecticut was 25 seconds back.  John Poray, Jr., 41, and Thomas Burns finished third and fifth, respectively, to round out the Indiana Elite AC's scoring.  Poray stopped the clock at 1:12:05 with Burns running 1:12:37.  Jeff Zeha, 40, of Fishers backed up his teammates running 1:14:51; finishing seventh in the M40-44 division.

The team's cumulative team time of 4:17:54 (1:11:30 average/runner) was over 20 minutes faster than the runner-up team; First Coast Runners from Florida.

Last month the team won the 5 km team title in Georgia and in December they won the national cross country team title.  They now lead the 2022 Masters Grand Prix in the 40+ division with 300 points.
