Hoosier Win Four Titles at Masters Outdoor Championships in Alabama

Results

The 2025 USATF Masters Outdoor Track & Field Championships concluded on Sunday (20-July) at Milton Frank Stadium in Huntsville, Alabama. A total of 1,192 athletes from all 50 states competed in the four-day national championship.

USATF Indiana was represented by 20 athletes who delivered outstanding performances throughout the meet. Indiana athletes brought home four national titles and made 22 total trips to the awards podium, earning medals for top-three finishes.

Indiana athletes delivered exceptional performances, earning 22 total medals and 10 national-class age-graded marks. Leading the way was Antonio Palacios, who not only captured gold in the M55-59 Long Jump but also recorded a world-class age-graded score of 90.61% with his winning jump of 5.92m (19-5¼). Chet Clodfelter topped the M60-64 Pole Vault podium with an impressive 3.80m (12-5½) mark and added a bronze in the Triple Jump. Grace Liang stood out with four medals — silver in the W35-39 200m and Long Jump, and bronze in the 100m and 100m Hurdles — while also achieving national-class scores in both sprints. April Svenstrup (W60-64) claimed two bronze medals and notched an 81.58% age-graded mark in the 100m running 15.41. Additional gold medalists included Debra Haviland (W70-74 800m) and Roger Malone (M55-59 100m Hurdles), with both athletes also reaching the podium in other events.

Age-Graded National Class Performances (80–89%)

Athletes achieving age-graded scores over 80% are considered national class performers. Hoosiers reached this mark 10 times in Huntsville, with Antonio Palacios's 90.61% in the Long Jump going one step further with 90%+ world-class performance.

Looking Ahead

The 2026 USATF Masters Outdoor Championships will be held July 23–26 in Geneva, Ohio. The 2026 USATF Masters Indoor Championships are scheduled for February 19–22 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
