Violet Hall wins three Para titles
Indiana athletes delivered an outstanding performance at the 2026 USATF Outdoor & Para National Championships, held July 23-26 at Icahn Stadium in New York City. The championships marked the 150th edition of the event and its first return to New York City since 1991, with Indiana competitors earning four national titles, five runner-up finishes, two bronze medals, and numerous top-eight performances.
Leading the way was Violet Hall, who completed a remarkable sweep of the T47 sprint events at the Para National Championships. Hall captured national titles in the 100m (12.88), 200m (25.96), and 400m (1:01.71), accounting for three of Indiana's four national championships.
Joining Hall atop the podium was Noah Malone, who won the men's T12 100m national title in 10.61, continuing Indiana's strong tradition of success in para athletics.
Indiana athletes also earned five runner-up finishes. Addison Wiley (adidas) claimed silver medals in both the women's 1,500m (4:06.96) and 800m (1:59.40), while Charity Hufnagel cleared 1.92m to finish second in the women's high jump. In para competition, Andrew Gray earned silver in the men's T13 1,500m with a time of 4:40.31.
Two Hoosiers added bronze medals to Indiana's impressive medal haul. Erin Reese (Velaasa) placed third in the women's hammer throw with a best mark of 72.94m, while Andrew Gray returned to the podium with a third-place finish in the men's T13 5,000m (17:22.75).
Several additional Indiana athletes posted top-eight finishes. Gabriela Leon finished fourth in the women's pole vault after clearing 4.60m, Mikayla Reed placed fifth in the women's 10,000m (33:49.23), Ashley Callahan finished sixth in the women's pole vault (4.35m), and Alexia Smith placed seventh in the women's 400m (51.85).
