Olivia Ballew, 30, of Bloomington has been named the USATF Indiana Athlete of the Month for February 2020. Ballew ran 2:43:53 to finish 103rd at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials - Marathon last month in Atlanta. She entered as the 268th seed of the 456 declared entrants. Competing on a course described as many as the toughest they have run on and windy conditions, Ballew's time was only 38 seconds shy of her career best time of 2:43:15 run at the 2018 CNO Monumental Marathon. Ballew, a 2012 graduate of the University of North Carolina, is a PhD Candidate in Genome, Cell, and Developmental Biology at Indiana University.
