Davis selected as September Athlete of the Month


 
Jesse Davis, 40, of Indianapolis has been named the USATF Indiana Athlete of the Month for September 2022. Davis, who competes for the Indiana Elite Athletic Club, finished fourth in the men's 40-44 division at the USATF Masters 12 km Championships on September 18 in Highlands, N.J. His time of 39:55 scored 83.27% on the age-grading tables; with scores of 80-90% being classified as national class peformances.  His performamce also clinched the win in the year-long USATF Masters National Grand Prix.  With one event to go he has 480 points and can not be surpassed.  His Indiana Elite AC teammate John Poray is in second with 385 points.  Davis' run in New Jersey led his club to the team title which in turn secured their win in the year-long USATF Masters National Team Grand Prix.  Earlier this year the team won the 40+ division at the Club Cross Country, 5 km, 10 km, and Half Marathon championships.

On October 1, Davis finished third overall in the USATF Indiana Half Marathon Championships running 1:09:44.  He won the 40-44 masters title and his 85.80% age-graded score was the best of all the masters athletes that competed.

Mike Cole - Finished fourth in the 45-45 division at the USATF Masters 12 km Championships in New Jersey, running 42:52 .  Won the 45-49 division at the USATF Indiana Half Marathon Championships running 1:15:57.

Will Conway - Finished fifth at the Brown County Eagle Classic in Nashville running 15:19. Finished third at the Trinity / Valkyrie Invitational 
in Louisville, Kentucky running 15:14.

Gretchen Farley -  Won the Ben Davis Invitational running 17:55.  Finished second at the Riverview Health Invitational running 17:50 on the Northview Church course in Carmel.

Bridget Gallagher - Won the Hometown Savings Bank State Preview running 19:31 on the LaVern Gibson Championship XC course in Terre Haute. Finished third at the Indiana All Catholic XC running 18:40 on the Guerin Catholic course in Noblesville. Finished fifth at the Riverview Health Invitational running 18:25 on the Northview Church course in Carmel. Finished fifth at the Culver Academies Invitational running 18:34.

Clayton Guthrie - Finished ninth at the Brown County Eagle Classic running 15:27.  Won the Conference Indiana Championships running 15:22/  Finished fifth at the Nike XC Town Twilight Invitational running 15:05 (#22 course all-time) at the LaVern Gibson Championship Course in Terre Haute. 

Nate Killeen - Finished fourth at the Brown County Eagle Classic in Nashville running 15:10.  Won the Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference Championships.  Finished 16th at the Nike XC Town Twilight Invitationals running 15:23 on the LaVern Gibson Championship Course in Terre Haute.

Addison Knoblauch - Finished second at the Marion Invitational on the Indiana Wesleyan course running 17:43 (#6 course all-time).  Won the West Noble Invitational running 18:19.  Finished second at the Nike XC Town Twilight Invitational running 17:22 (#15 course all-time; #3 course Indiana all-time) on the LaVern Championship Championships Course .

Kole Mathison - Won the Brown County Eagle Classic running 14:53 to set a new course record.  Won the Riverview Health Invitational running 15:05 at the Northview Church course in Carmel. Won the Nike XC Town Twilight Invitational running 14:52 at the LaVern Gibson Championship Course in Terre Haute.  His time is #3 all-time on the course and #2 for an Indiana athlete.

John Poray - Finished eighth in the 40-44 division at the USATF Masters 12 km Championships in New Jersey, running 41:09.

Asher Propst - Finished eighth at the Riverview Health Invitational running 15:48 on the Northview Church course in Carmel.  Won the Hoosier Crossroad Conference Championships running 15:15. 

William Russell - Finish 11th at the Brown County Eagle Classic running 15:29.  Finished second at the Conference Indiana Championships running 15:33.

Julia Score -  Finished second at the Indiana All Catholic XC running 18:21 on the Guerin Catholic course in Noblesville.  Won the Golden Spike Invitational running 19:04.  Finished third at the Culver Academies Invitational running 18:15.


Jeff Zeha - Finished seventh in the 40-44 division at the USATF Masters 12 km Championships in New Jersey, running 40:57.
